When our client in Edwardsville, IL, contacted us, their front yard had a brown lawn and no landscape. So, they wanted to improve their curb appeal while connecting the driveway and fence gate to the side. Our team got to work on creating a landscape design that would fit their property perfectly and prepping the areas. Following that, we installed a sleek paver walkway and outdoor lighting to illuminate the landscape at night. New landscape beds with plants, flowers, and a rock ground cover were also added to bring eye-catching details to their home's front yard. Finally, we completely renovated their lawn so it's green and attractive throughout.

Design & Preparation Were the First Steps of This Front Yard Project

Our client initially had a stale, lackluster front yard with patchy grass and a nonexistent landscape. We wanted to change this for them, but first, we needed to understand their goals for this project and what had to be done. We worked collaboratively with them to create a landscape design that perfectly fit their property while ensuring it achieved everything they envisioned. Once the details were solidified, we got to work on prepping the area for the new installations by creating the borders of each landscape bed, with one in front, along the side, around the mailbox, and in the center of the lawn.

The Next Step Was to Install a Walkway & Outdoor Lighting

Once all the preparations were complete, the next step of this front yard transformation project was to install the walkway. We used durable concrete pavers for this feature, adding a dark gray border to make it stand out from the landscape bed it runs through. This walkway connects our client's driveway to their side fence gate so they don't have to walk through grass to access their backyard.

Additionally, outdoor lighting was installed in the landscape in front of their house and to the side. This element improves visibility at night, making it easier to use the walkway while drawing attention to the plants we planned to incorporate so their beauty isn't lost in the dark.

Plants & Rocks Were Added to the New Landscape Beds

Installing plants in our client's new landscape beds was another part of this project. We incorporated small trees, plants, and flowers into each one in their front yard, strategically placing each type to complement their overall look. River rocks were also installed as the ground cover, with small portions of purple trap rock to create more visual appeal. Then, we finished the landscape beds with a stone edging that emphasized their shape and separated them from the surrounding grass.

The Final Step of This Front Yard Transformation Project Was to Renovate the Lawn

After finishing the new landscape installations, the final step of this front yard transformation project was to nurse the lawn back to health. We completely renovated their turf to get rid of the unappealing brown patches and instead have lush, green grass. With the lawn healthy and vibrant, plus a well-planned landscape, our client now boasts a stunning front yard that takes their curb appeal to the next level!
