We had a client in Edwardsville, IL, reach out to our team looking to upgrade their curb appeal with transformed landscape beds. Their existing beds were filled with overgrown plants, which were encroaching on the walkway and shrouding part of the house. Because of this, the first step involved clearing them out and working with them to mark new landscape beds along the side of the house and around the lamp post on their lawn. After that, we added stone edging to define their shape, a rock ground cover throughout, and small, charming plants. Our client had severely overgrown and neglected landscape beds that detracted from their curb appeal, so our goal was to start fresh with a clean slate. To do this, we cleared the beds of overgrown plants, weeds, and ground cover. We also removed the existing edging and ensured the soil was thoroughly prepped for the new additions.

In addition to cleaning up their landscape beds, we also worked with them to plan their new ones. We decided to extend the existing one at the front down the side of the house, add a small, circular one around the lamp post on their lawn, and another one along the opposite side next to the driveway. That way, we create a cohesive look while incorporating more visual appeal.

Once the prep work was complete, we got to work on the new installations. We bordered the landscape beds with stone edging to define their shape and separate them from the lawn. Then, we added light-colored rocks for the ground cover, along with small boulders for more depth and texture. A variety of charming shrubs were also strategically planted throughout the beds, accenting a few with purple trap rocks to bring some color. This purposeful landscape design gives their front yard a like-new appearance, which is a dramatic difference from what they had before!
